Green Status: Biodynamic
Arnaud and Isabelle Guicharde’s objective is to produce natural and authentic wines in as healthy an environment as possible. To this end, they are committed to biodynamic and organic viticulture in order to attain the fullest expression of the vines and grapes in harmony with the natural ambiance. They began the multi-year conversion to organic agriculture (agriculture biologique) with the 2008 vintage. They discontinued the use of synthetic products to treat vine diseases such as mildew and odium, and now only treat the vines with copper and sulfur. All of the vine-rows are plowed and only organic fertilizer is used when needed. The 2011 vintage was certified as fully organic (biologique) by ECOCERT. But not fully satisfied with the parameters of organic production, the Guichards moved to fully biodynamic production beginning in 2010. Their first Demeter certified biodynamic vintage was the 2013.
