Green Status: Sustainable
We have worked with Mark Vlossak and St Innocent Winery since the 1997 vintage. Without a doubt, Mark is one of the very best winemakers in all of Oregon. In this day and age, that is saying a lot. Mark monitors and contracts with some of the top names in Oregon vineyards: Zenith (the estate vineyard), Temperance Hill, Shea, Momtazi, Justice, Freedom Hill.
When St Innocent lost access to the Seven Springs/Anden Vineyard, it was a major hit to his production (40%). Mark picked up a large contract with Momtazi, and Momtazi had the reputation of creating dark brooding Pinot Noirs with big tannin. It took Mark about two years to tame Momtazi, and now his section of this vineyard are among his best Pinot Noirs (along with being biodynamically certified).
St Innocent also offers small quantities of exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.
