Twenty Bench Cabernet Sauvignon was started when 20 tons of quality Cab was purchased from a trusted friend who had a vineyard in Napa and had no space for the fruit. James Harder and Jim Regusci bought the fruit, fermented it into wine, but the wine had no name. The winemaker marked “20 Bench” on the barrels to call it something, and the name stuck. From then on, the goal of the producers of Twenty Bench is to secure Cabernet Sauvignon from sites in Napa that can still be affordable to pour in restaurants and to sell at retail. As the wine became more popular, it became more and more difficult to find enough Napa Valley fruit in the right price range to meet the national supply.
Twenty Bench is part of the Nine North Wine Company portfolio of California wines.
