Buehler Vineyards began in 1971 as a side project to John Buehler’s successful career with Bechtel, and the winery began producing in 1978. Heidi Barrett, then an unknown, became the first winemaker. Now in its fourth generation, Buehler Vineyards is a Napa Valley winery known for its sane prices and consistently high reviews. It is located considerably off the heavily beaten Napa Valley Wine Trail, to the east, in the hills. Some of its vineyards are dry farmed, another rarity in Napa.
The winery produces a couple of Cabernets, a couple of Chardonnays, a Zinfandel and a rare Napa Valley White Zinfandel.
