Ca Dei Frati
Italy, Lombardia

The historic estate of Cà dei Frati, or the “House of the Friars” has been documented as being in existence since the late 18th century. Since 1939, the Dal Cero family has transformed this property into one of the most respected wine making estates in all of Italy. Located in Lombardy, on the southern shore of Lake Garda in Sirmione, Cà dei Frati is without question the leading producer of Lugana wines, made from the locally indigenous variety Turbiana, with 165 hectares under vine. The soil here is predominantly clay and helps give shape to the Lugana wines of Cà dei Frati, yielding complex, mineral, concentrated wines. In addition to Lugana, the estate also produces an exceptional red wine, Ronchedone, made with Marzemino, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese.
