Castello Luzzano
Italy, Lombardia
Green Status: Sustainable

Castello Luzzano is a unique winery in our portfolio, as it sits on a border between two appellations, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna, and has vineyards in both.  The Colli Piacentini DOC has the terroir for Malvasia and the Otrepo Pavese DOC has the soil for red grapes, such as Bonarda and Barbera.  There are several wines produced by the estate, but just five are imported to the USA.

The winery has been owned and operated by the Fugazza family since the early part of the 20th century.  Currently, Giovannella Fugazza is the proprietor of the winery and its most enthusiastic supporter.

On the property sits a small guesthouse that used to serve as the customs station on the provincial line between Lombardy and Emilia—a lasting bit of Italian history.

Castello Luzzano is part of the Vias Imports portfolio of Italian wines.
