Chateau d’Oupia was started by the humble Andre Iche in the hills of Minervois, where he tended the vines and made the wines starting when he was in his sixties. He used old-vine carignan as the base of his wines and went about producing everyday-priced wines but delivering wines of profundity, elegance and power. Unfortunately, Andre passed away unexpectedly in 2007. His daughter, with the help of a skilled enologist, continues to make the wines today so that we may enjoy them.
